Chalk are working with a number of education providers across Llandudno; Rhyl, and Conwy - we require teaching assistants to cover a range of positions with a range of contracts available. Working with students with a range of additional needs, candidates could be working with children and young people with SEMH needs; Learning Difficulties; Neuro-divergency needs; Physical and Complex Medical Needs

Job Description

You will be required to support creative and interactive lessons in an engaging way to groups of students with mixed ages and abilities. You will require good knowledge of a range of subjects throughout the curriculum and if relevant across your specialist area.

Excellent behaviour management is necessary yet with a calm but firm approach. You will always be working alongside a supportive staff team ensuring a positive and safe learning environment is provided for all students.

Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

The ideal candidate will:-

  • Have first hand experience of the UK National Curriculum
  • Have experience of teaching assistant or care work based in the UK
  • Have experience of working with students that have additional needs
  • Be flexible and able to change plans according to pupils' needs

Additional requirements:

  • References confirming suitability for role
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
