Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who specialises in Autism and looking for a new opportunity?

A well-known, ‘Good’ primary school based in Haringey, N17, are in need of SEN teaching assistants with a demonstrable history of supporting pupils with Autism to join them on a full-time basis ASAP.

Job Description

This role will involve provide 1:1 and small group support and guidance to students within the Autism Unit. The successful special needs teaching assistant will need to collaborate with the class teacher and therapists to implement personalized learning programs.

As a Primary Special Needs teaching assistant, you will be expected to create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported and you will be instrumental developing pupils social, communication, and behavioural skills. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

To be considered for this role you will need:

· Experience working with Autism. (PECS and Makaton knowledge highly desirable)

· Positive attitude and positive behaviour management philosophies
