SEMH Cover Supervisor

Chalk are recruiting a Cover Supervisor to start as soon as possible working 8:30-3:30pm. This is the perfect opportunity to join a dynamic specialist school in the Altrincham area.

Job Description

You will be required to support students on a one to basis and in small groups, both academically and emotionally, across a variety of lessons and activities; as well as regularly providing cover for classes in the absence of the teacher. The pupils who require support have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including Social Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, ADHD, Autism, behavioural difficulties and Looked After Children; so excellent behaviour management is necessary with a calm but firm approach. You will be working alongside a supportive staff team ensuring a positive and safe learning environment is provided for all students.

To be considered for this TA role you will need:

· Experience supporting young people with a range SEND including SEMH

· Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills

· Excellent behaviour management with knowledge of a range of de-escalation techniques

· A positive attitude with a calm but firm approach

o References confirming suitability for role

o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
