Are you energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference? This lively Primary School based in N14 is looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Team. If you have a proven record in supporting early years children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEND), we want to hear from you! This role includes some manual handling and requires a positive, structured approach to foster a nurturing environment for our young learners.

As the successful Early Years SEN teaching assistant, you’ll build strong relationships with staff and parents, sharing important information about the children’s activities and health needs. You’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding, ensuring the welfare of our students.

In this role, you’ll champion each child’s educational journey, providing individualised support and assisting the class teacher. We expect commitment, with working hours from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • One-on-One Support: Provide focused care for children with SEN.
  • Safe Environment: Maintain a nurturing and secure space.
  • Holistic Development: Engage in activities that support overall growth.
  • Collaboration: Work with special education professionals on effective strategies.
  • Monitoring: Track and document children’s progress and behaviors.
  • Daily Assistance: Support with personal hygiene, mealtime, and toileting.

Requirements:

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Early Years curriculum.
  • Comfort with Care: Willingness to assist with personal care and toileting.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with SEN children.
