We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cover Supervisor with a strong background in behavioural management to join our dedicated team.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of teaching staff. You will ensure that students remain engaged with their work, maintain positive behaviour in the classroom, and follow the school’s behaviour policies.
Your role will involve implementing strategies to promote a safe and respectful learning environment, as well as providing support to students who may need additional behavioural assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during lessons in the absence of their regular teachers.
- Deliver pre-set lessons and manage student behaviour to ensure focus and engagement.
- Implement the school’s behaviour policies to promote positive conduct.
- Provide support to students with behavioural challenges and work with them to improve their conduct.
- Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to support students’ academic and behavioural development.
- Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and report any issues to relevant staff.
- Assist with administrative duties when necessary, such as marking work or helping with classroom preparation.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a behavioural management role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond quickly to changing classroom environments.
- A patient, proactive, and calm demeanour.
