An outstanding Secondary School based in New Barnet, EN4, are in need of SEND Teaching Assistants to join their SEND support Team on a long-term, full-time basis ASAP.
Job Description
The position is to work in a specialist Autism unit supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils, some who also exhibit challenging behaviour. The successful special needs teaching assistant will be supporting across all subjects and tailoring the lessons to the pupils’ abilities, this will be 1:1, in small groups and within class. The role requires someone who is dynamic and adaptable to each pupil.
As a special needs teaching assistant within this school, you will be dealing with challenging behaviour and using various reinforcement strategies to provide support for pupils who need extra support. We welcome candidates who wish to take on a fulfilling challenging position and have previous experience as a support worker. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Dedicated to supporting young people with SEND, in particular Autism, Challenging Behaviour and ADHD
- Experience in a similar environment of supporting people with additional needs

o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
