An inclusive and nurturing infant school in Wokingham is seeking a Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) qualified Communication Support Worker to join their dedicated team from September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young deaf or hearing-impaired pupil, helping them access the Early Years or Key Stage 1 curriculum and thrive in a caring school environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group support for a pupil with hearing impairment

Use BSL to facilitate effective communication between the pupil, peers, and staff

Assist with learning activities, both in and out of the classroom

Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists

Promote inclusion, confidence, and independence in the school setting
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) – essential

Experience working with young children in an educational or care setting

A calm, patient, and child-centred approach

Ability to work as part of a team and follow support plans

A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional communication needs
