Children’s Residential Support Worker

Hourly Rate: £14.50 – £17.50 (DOE)
Location: Altrincham, Trafford
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off (10:00am – 10:00am, including 2 sleep-ins per rota)

We are seeking a reliable and committed Residential Support Worker to join a children’s centre based in Altrincham, Trafford.

The centre supports three young people aged 7–14, providing a safe, stable and structured environment where they can develop, grow and feel secure.

This role is centred around consistency, routine and building positive relationships. You will play a key part in supporting young people in their day-to-day lives and helping to create a calm and supportive environment within the centre.

The role will involve

  • Supporting young people with daily routines and activities
  • Promoting independence and life skills
  • Building positive and professional relationships
  • Maintaining a safe and structured environment
  • Managing behaviour consistently and appropriately
  • Completing sleep-in shifts as part of the rota
  • Working as part of a team to provide consistent care
  • Supporting activities in and out of the centre

Background and experience required

Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Children’s residential care
  • Support work or care settings
  • Youth work
  • Behaviour support
  • Working with young people in any capacity

  • Strong ability to build relationships with young people
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Flexible to work shifts including sleep-ins
  • Committed to providing a safe and supportive environment
  • Somebody who is flexible as hours can be demanding

Requirements

  • References covering experience working with young people
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • Willingness to complete all required training
