Learning Support Assistant – Chester

Salary: £24,000 per annum
Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Chester. This rewarding role involves supporting learners with Autism and Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) across a range of ages, from primary through to college level.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams to help students build confidence, develop skills, and access learning in a safe, inclusive environment.

What We’re Looking For

• UK-based experience working with children or young adults
• Understanding of Autism and/or SEMH is highly desirable
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Commitment to promoting inclusion and wellbeing

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for learners with additional needs
• Assist in delivering tailored educational and behavioural support plans
• Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Encourage independence, engagement, and progress
• Work collaboratively with the wider staff team and external professionals
