Chalk Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a brand-new specialist SEN provision launching in Buxton in Summer 2025. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of a founding team committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and dynamic learning environment for pupils with complex needs.
We are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting young people through a trauma-informed, practical, and relationship-based approach. The role involves working closely with pupils who present with significant behavioural and emotional needs, so resilience, empathy, and a calm, grounded presence are essential.
Key Information:
- Location: Buxton
- Start Date: July 2025
- Interview Dates: 5th & 10th June 2025
- Salary: Competitive – dependent on experience
- Contract: Full-time, with potential for long-term or permanent placement
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour
- A background in outdoor learning, alternative provision, or trauma-informed support is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A positive, patient, and flexible approach to support
- Confidence working in small group settings – currently only 8 pupils enrolled
- A genuine commitment to helping young people thrive emotionally, socially, and academically
