Job Description

Chalk is recruiting for Residential Support Workers to support children/young people in an independent Residential SEND school which caters for children with Autism, Speech and Language disorders, moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. In this role, you will support young people aged 5 – 19 within the home, school and out in the community encouraging them to learn new skills and gain independence. You will be required to assist with personal care while maintaining the individual’s dignity.

 

The organisation offers full training, and you will be able to learn from an experienced and friendly team. The role is hands on, and your days will be full and varied. The young people are given opportunities to explore new hobbies, this can include rock climbing, yoga, or learning a musical instrument! To be considered for this role you will need:

  • To be willing to undertake training as directed by the setting
  • Be able to work shifts that include some evenings & weekends. All shifts are either early (7:15am – 3:45pm) or late (1:30pm – 10pm)
  • Ideally a background in social care and an appropriate qualification. However, we will consider applications from those with no experience provided you are willing to learn and passionate about providing an exceptional level of care
  • An understanding of supporting those with Special Educational Needs and managing challenging behaviour in a positive manner
  • To be a resilient, flexible individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude
