
Description
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people within an SEMH provision, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. You will assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment while providing emotional and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to young people with SEMH needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people to promote their well-being and development.
- Support children in both their educational and residential settings, ensuring they feel safe and respected.
- Assist with daily routines, activities, and personal development goals.
- Act as a positive role model, offering guidance and support to encourage independence.
- Work collaboratively with other team members, professionals, and families to ensure the best outcomes for the young people.
- Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring that each child’s needs are met effectively.
- Help young people with their social, emotional, and practical needs, encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
About You:
- Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential).
- A genuine passion for working with young people with SEMH and a commitment to supporting their individual needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team.
- Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A positive, empathetic, and flexible approach to care.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
