About the Opportunity
Chalk Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential children’s home for a Residential Children’s Home Support Worker to join their team on a full-time, temporary-to-permanent basis starting as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people up to the age of 18 within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
The Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development. You will work as part of a committed care team to provide high-quality, child-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day care and supervision
- Supporting young people’s emotional and behavioural needs
- Encouraging independence and life skills development
- Assisting with education, appointments, and activities
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of all young people
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external professionals
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)
- A caring, resilient, and professional approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
