Job Description
Chalk Education is recruiting for a Male Secondary Learning Support Assistant, which is a long-term placement starting November 2024 within the additional need’s unit of a mainstream Secondary School in St. Helens. The role will be to support a Male student with mental health difficulties and anxiety. Applicants must have experience in behaviour management. Experience in de-escalation and looked after children would be an advantage. This role would be suitable for someone who has a passion for supporting the needs of young people but also capable of providing a level of academic support for the student. Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Experience of working in a school, residential setting would be ideal
- A minimum of 3 months experience of working with children in KS3/KS4
- Experience of working with children who have mental health difficulties
- Behaviour Management skills
- Have excellent communication skills
- To be a caring, understanding, and patient person
