Position: SEN TA - Early Years
Pay Rate: £450 - £550 Per Week (DOE)
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time, 6-month contract, March 2026
Are you an experienced EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference for young children with additional needs? Chalk Education is recruiting for Early Years settings in Stockport. We work with a variety of provisions, including mainstream nurseries, primary schools, and specialist SEN early years units, supporting children with a range of learning and developmental needs.
Settings focus on structure, routine, and positive adult relationships. Children are supported in calm, structured environments designed to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and encourage engagement. Staff work closely together to ensure all children feel understood, supported, and able to reach their potential.
In this role, you will provide tailored support, either 1:1 or in small groups, assisting with communication strategies, delivering individualised learning programmes, reinforcing support plans, and implementing interventions to develop social, emotional, and early academic skills. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor children’s progress and wellbeing.
This role would suit someone who:

Has hands-on experience supporting young children with SEN

Can work patiently and calmly with children who may have challenging behaviours

Is Team Teach trained, or happy to complete the training

Has experience in EYFS, SEN, or specialist early years settings

Builds positive relationships with children and colleagues

Is adaptable, resilient, and emotionally aware

Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Has experience working in UK schools
Essential requirements:

References confirming suitability to work with children

Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service
