Design and Technology Teacher – Secondary School | Reading

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Start Date: September 2025 
Contract: Full-time or Part-time (permanent or long-term options)
Salary: MPS/UPS (Depending on experience)

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive secondary school in Reading. Whether you're looking for a full-time or part-time position, this is a fantastic opportunity to deliver high-quality D&T lessons to students up to GCSE level.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT with a strong understanding of D&T disciplines including product design, resistant materials, or graphics.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4

  • Support students’ practical and theoretical learning in a well-resourced workshop

  • Prepare pupils for GCSE assessments and coursework

  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities

  • Foster creativity, independence, and problem-solving skills

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

  • Has experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level (up to GCSE)

  • Is confident in delivering across a range of D&T areas (e.g. resistant materials, product design)

  • Brings a creative, organised, and collaborative teaching approach

  • Is passionate about developing students' technical and design abilities
