Chalk are working alongside a SEMH provision in Wigan, who focus on providing tailored support to help students thrive academically and socially. We are seeking a number compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with social, emotional, and mental health needs and be committed to creating a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with SEMH needs in the classroom and during individual sessions.
• Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Foster positive relationships with students to encourage their emotional and social development.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs.
• A relevant qualification in education or a related field (e.g., Teaching Assistant Certificate, Level 2/3).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
