Pay Rate: £100 - £120 per Day (DOE)

Are you looking for a role where your experience as a coach, youth worker, mentor or support worker can directly help young people thrive? Chalk Education is recruiting for a school in Wakefield that provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils.

What you’ll do as a Behaviour Mentor

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs in a mainstream setting
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Act as a trusted adult and positive role model
• Reinforce routines, structures and individual support plans
• Encourage confidence, independence and social development
• Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor progress

Who we’re looking for
You don’t need direct school experience to apply. This role is ideal for someone with a background in youth work, coaching, mentoring or support work who wants to transition into education. You will be someone who:

• Can stay calm, patient and consistent in challenging situations
• Builds strong, respectful relationships with young people
• Is resilient, emotionally intelligent and adaptable
• Is motivated to develop a rewarding career in education

Essential requirements

• References confirming suitability to work with children
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
