Position: Behaviour Mentor
Pay Rate: £120 per day (DOE)
Location: Bolton, Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time, March 2026
Are you an experienced Behaviour Mentor looking to support young people aged 11–19 in specialist or SEN settings? Chalk Education is recruiting for schools in Bolton that provide targeted support for pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and other learning challenges.
These schools focus on creating structured, nurturing environments where pupils feel safe, understood, and empowered to manage their behaviour and succeed academically and socially.
Your role will include:

Providing 1:1 or small group support to pupils aged 11–19 with SEN, SEMH, and complex needs

Assisting pupils to develop positive behaviour strategies, self-regulation, and coping skills

Supporting staff in implementing behaviour plans, interventions, and restorative approaches

Monitoring progress and reporting to SENCOs and pastoral teams

Creating a calm, structured, and supportive environment conducive to learning
We’re looking for someone who:

Has hands-on experience supporting adolescents with complex SEN or SEMH needs

Can manage challenging behaviour confidently and calmly
-
Is Team Teach trained, or willing to complete training
-
Has experience in SEN, specialist, or alternative education settings
-
Builds strong, respectful relationships with pupils and colleagues
-
Is adaptable, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
-
Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion
-
Has prior experience working in UK schools
Essential requirements:

References confirming suitability to work with children and young people

Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service
