Position: Behavioural Mentor
Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day (DOE)
Location: Bolton, Manchester
Contract Type: Full-time, ASAP Start
Are you an experienced mentor or SEN support professional with a talent for helping pupils manage social, emotional, and behavioural challenges? Chalk Education is working with several schools across Bolton that provides structured, relationship-led support to pupils with SEMH needs.
These schools focus on creating a safe and consistent environment where pupils can build emotional regulation, confidence, and positive social skills. Staff collaborate closely to provide individualised support and encourage pupils to engage fully with learning.
As a Behavioural Support Mentor, you will help pupils overcome behavioural and emotional barriers to learning. You will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies, deliver targeted interventions, and support pupils during periods of dysregulation. Your guidance will help pupils develop self-control, resilience, and positive engagement across the curriculum.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- Is confident in managing challenging behaviour using positive, consistent approaches
- Holds Team Teach training or is willing to complete it
- Has worked in SEN, specialist, or alternative education settings
- Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Is patient, adaptable, and resilient
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Has experience working in UK schools
Essential requirements:
- Professional references confirming suitability for working with children
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
