An exceptional school in Basingstoke that provides comprehensive education to children with a wide range of additional needs, such as Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), behavioural challenges (EBD), and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). They are currently seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker like you!
As an Autism Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism, helping them access learning, develop essential skills, and build confidence within a structured and nurturing environment. You will work closely with teaching staff and specialists to deliver individualised education and behaviour plans, provide one-to-one and small group support, and assist pupils in regulating emotions, improving communication, and engaging with their peers. You will also play an important role in safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people. This role requires a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, as well as the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
To be considered for the Autism Support Worker role, candidates should have experience—either professional or personal—supporting young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities. Strong behaviour management skills and excellent communication abilities are essential, along with a positive attitude and a flexible, proactive approach. An enhanced DBS certificate is required for the role; however, support can be provided to complete this if necessary. A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is crucial, as is eligibility to work in the UK.
