Chalk Educationis working alongside an alternative provision in Birkenhead who is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive. We are seeking passionate and dedicated youth workers to join their team.
You will play a vital role in supporting and guiding young individuals in their personal and social development. This position involves working closely with pupils, providing mentorship, education, and support to help them navigate various challenges. You will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment that fosters growth and learning.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one mentoring to support personal development and goal setting.
- Facilitate group sessions that encourage teamwork, communication, and social skills.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to youth development.
- Monitor the progress of individuals and adjust programmes as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for reporting purposes.
- Promote a positive atmosphere that encourages participation and engagement among youth.
Skills
- Experience working with children or young people in a professional or volunteer capacity is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices is advantageous for supporting diverse learning needs.
- Ability to educate and inspire youth through creative teaching techniques.
- Excellent mentoring skills to provide guidance and support in various situations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with young people, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
