Description
Chalk Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor to work in Rotherham, supporting young people (14 - 16 years) within a classroom environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact by helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviours.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring support
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Support emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Encourage engagement, motivation, and positive decision-making
- Work closely with staff to support individual needs and goals
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, mentoring, or similar)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to act as a positive role model
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Commitment to Safeguarding
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
- Eligibility to work in the UK
