Chalk Education is seeking passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join a developing Alternative Provision in Cheshire East, starting as soon as possible.
About the Role
This rewarding position involves working closely with a teacher to deliver bespoke, two-to-one learning programmes designed to engage students through a variety of creative and practical activities. Lessons often take place outside the traditional classroom environment, focusing on developing life skills and promoting positive personal growth.
You will help create a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment, ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of all students. A driving licence and access to a car are essential, as you will meet the class teacher at an agreed location before collecting and returning learners at the start and end of sessions.
The provision supports pupils who cannot access mainstream education, including those with SEMH, ADHD, attachment disorders, and Looked After Children. You will need strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
Requirements:
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs
- Experience delivering one-to-one or small group sessions
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Positive, flexible attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
- Enhanced DBS (on the update service)
- Driving licence and access to a car
- Eligibility to work in the UK
