The Role
A vibrant, Academy in Salford is looking for a confident Learning Support Assistant who can hit the ground running and keep learning on track. You’ll work 1:1 and with pupils across the curriculum in KS3 and KS4, modelling positive behaviour, and coaching pupils to make better choices—so teachers can teach and children can learn.
Day-to-Day
- Use strategies to support pupils across KS3 & KS4.
- Run short, purposeful interventions focused on self-regulation and social skills.
- Support pupils across the Secondary curriculum
- Log incidents, and feed clear information back to class teachers, SENCo and parents.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with teaching staff to maintain a safe, orderly learning environment.
- Act as a positive role-model—firm, fair, consistent.
We’re Looking For
- Recent experience supporting pupils in a Secondary, PRU or youth-work setting.
- Calm authority, quick thinking, and a genuine belief every child can succeed.
- Strong communication: you’ll need to win trust fast—with pupils, staff and families.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and the confidence to follow school policy without hesitation.
- A basic knowledge of the Secondary curriculum
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in the UK.
