Chalk Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Runcorn, seeking an experienced and dedicated support worker to join their team for the new academic term.

This role involves working on a one-to-one basis with students who have been identified with complex SEN needs and display challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will provide tailored support either within the classroom or in a designated one-to-one space, depending on the needs of the student.

You will play a vital role in helping these pupils engage with the curriculum, promoting positive behaviour, and supporting their emotional well-being. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN and behavioural needs
• Assist in delivering curriculum-based activities
• Implement personalised strategies to manage behaviour and encourage engagement
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with SEMH or challenging behaviours
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students
• Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
• Calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

This role offers a competitive daily rate of £90–£95, dependent on experience.
