Chalk Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Runcorn. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Support Worker to join their team for the new academic year.
This role will involve providing one-to-one support for students with complex SEN needs who may present with challenging behaviours. You will work either within the classroom or in a designated support space, depending on the needs of each student.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop positive behaviours, and build emotional resilience. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for students with SEN and behavioural needs
- Assist with curriculum-based activities and encourage engagement in learning
- Implement personalised behaviour management strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEMH or students displaying challenging behaviours
- Strong relationship-building skills with young people
- Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
- Calm, consistent, and empathetic approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
Role Details:
- Location: Runcorn
- Rate: £90–£95 per day (dependent on experience)
- Contract: Full-time, long-term opportunity
