An Outstanding and vibrant one-form entry Primary school in Islington is eagerly seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. In this role, you will provide essential classroom support in Key Stage 1 and deliver focused phonics interventions. This rewarding opportunity begins ASAP and will continue through to the end of the next academic year (July 2026).

Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping pupils enhance their reading abilities and overall literacy skills. You'll work closely with small groups, guiding them through phonics lessons and ensuring every child gains the confidence and skills they need to succeed in their educational journey.

The school is proud of its high standards and is looking for a Teaching Assistant who shares their commitment to excellence. With at least 6 months of recent experience supporting KS1, you’ll bring both expertise and enthusiasm to this role. Your ability to work independently, along with the confidence to actively participate in planning meetings, will be key to your success.

In partnership with the school staff, you will also have a vital role in safeguarding and protecting the well-being of all students.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with Key Stage 1
  • Strong proficiency in Phonics
  • Outstanding literacy and numeracy skills
  • A deep passion for education and a commitment to making a difference
