SEND Teaching Assistant – Liverpool
Full-time | Term-time only | Immediate start available
Location: Liverpool
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Chalk Education are currently recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive special educational needs secondary school in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with a range of learning needs, including complex and profound learning difficulties.

The Role:

You will be supporting students aged 11–19 with special educational needs in a structured and nurturing environment. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will help deliver tailored learning activities and care routines, ensuring each student can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEND
  • Assist in the delivery of bespoke learning plans
  • Support pupils with personal care and mobility as required
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support student progress

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (including PMLD, SLD, or ASD)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a good sense of humour
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential
