Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Location: Liverpool, L9
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time, Monday-Friday, 8.45am - 3.45pm
Start Date: January 2025

Chalk Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEND secondary school in Liverpool to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time role.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with PMLD, Autism, and a range of complex learning and physical needs in a nurturing and structured school environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with profound and complex needs
• Support students with personal care, including toileting and feeding, in a respectful and dignified manner
• Assist with communication, sensory activities, and personalised learning programmes
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet individual EHCP targets
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Support students with emotional regulation and behaviour, using positive behaviour strategies

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with PMLD, Autism, or complex needs (school, care, or support setting)
• Is comfortable with personal care duties
• Is patient, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with SEND
• Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential – the right attitude and commitment are key.
