Description
Full-time | Long-term contract | £90 – £110 per day (PAYE)
The role
A vibrant two-form-entry primary school in Islington needs a committed SEND TA to provide 2:1 support for two girls in Reception. Both pupils have EHCPs covering social-communication needs and global developmental delay. Daily duties include:
- Structured 1:1 and paired learning using visuals, PECS and sensory breaks.
- Speech-and-language and occupational-therapy follow-ups set by specialists.
- Intimate care: toileting routines, changing, and personal-care coaching, always preserving dignity.
- Proactive communication with the class teacher, SENCo and parents on progress and next steps.
- Maintaining meticulous behaviour and learning records to feed into EHCP reviews.
What we’re looking for
- Proven classroom or nursery experience with early years & SEND (ASD/global delay preferred).
- Genuine confidence with personal-care support.
- Calm, warm demeanour plus the resilience to reset and re-engage quickly.
- Literacy and numeracy to at least GCSE C/4 (or equivalent).
- Right to work in the UK and a DBS on the update service (or readiness to obtain one).
What’s in it for you
- Consistent, full-time work through to July (with potential to extend).
- Daily rate £90 – £110 paid weekly—no umbrella deductions.
- Hands-on support from an experienced SEN consultant (that’s us).
- CPD — regular free training on PECS, de-escalation and Makaton.
- A welcoming staff team and a leadership group that values TAs as partners, not extras.
