Chalk Education are looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible in a friendly Special School in Dudley. This is a temporary position until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
Job Description
In this role, you will support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning and daily school activities. Working closely with the class teacher and wider support staff, you will help create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where pupils can thrive and achieve their full potential.
This welcoming and inclusive special school supports pupils aged 2–19 with a wide range of SEND, including complex medical needs, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism, and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
We are looking for caring and committed individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people. Experience working with SEND is desirable, and knowledge of alternative communication approaches or manual handling would be beneficial. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

To be considered for this role you will need:
- Experience supporting young people with SEND and complex needs
- Good understanding of different SEND needs
- Excellent communication skills (knowledge of Makaton, AAC device, BSL)
- Strong behaviour management
- A caring and positive attitude with a flexible approach
