A vibrant and welcoming one-form entry Primary School in Haringey, N22, is seeking a compassionate and energetic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for two pupils with varying SEN in Key Stage 2. This rewarding role begins ASAP and continues until the end of the next academic year (July 2026).
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Morning Sessions: Support a Year 4 pupil with Autism and ADHD.
- Afternoon Sessions: Assist a Year 5 pupil with challenging behaviour.
You will also work closely with the school staff to ensure safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people remain a priority.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Proven experience working with children with diverse needs, particularly ASD and challenging behaviours.
- The ability to tailor teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when faced with challenging behaviours or situations.
- A proactive, creative approach to fostering a supportive and nurturing learning environment for the pupils' development.
