Salary: Main Scale Grade 3/4 (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate until at least January (potential to be extended)

About the Role

Chalk Education is recruiting for a dedicated SEN Primary Teacher (QTS) to start immediately at a welcoming special school in the Newark area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher (including NQTs/ECTs) who is passionate about working with primary-aged pupils (5–11 years) with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

You’ll plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in a small class setting, supported by experienced teaching assistants. The role focuses on developing pupils’ confidence, communication, and independence through creative and inclusive teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Create a safe, supportive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, parents and external professionals.
  • Monitor and record progress against learning targets and EHCP outcomes.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and independence.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – applications from NQTs/ECTs are welcome.
  • Experience or interest in supporting pupils with SEND (including autism, communication or learning difficulties).
  • A compassionate, adaptable and proactive approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
