Autism Support Worker (1:1) – KS1

Chalk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Speke to recruit a dedicated Autism Support Worker to provide 1:1 support for a child in Key Stage 1.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with autism and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally within a school setting.

The role:

• Providing 1:1 support for a child with autism in a KS1 classroom
• Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional regulation throughout the school day
• Implementing strategies to support communication, behaviour, and social interaction
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff
• Creating a calm, positive, and supportive learning environment

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience supporting children with autism and/or SEND (school or similar setting)
• Is patient, nurturing, and consistent
• Has a good understanding of KS1 and child development
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff
• Is reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference
