Chalk Education is recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a secondary school in Stoke. This is a full-time role starting in September, offering a daily rate of £95, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who may display challenging behaviour and require additional emotional support. You will work closely with teaching staff and the school’s pastoral team to provide consistent, structured support that enables students to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting individual pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Assisting teachers in managing behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
• Helping students to engage in learning and develop coping strategies
• Contributing to the development and implementation of personalised learning plans

Essential requirements:

• Experience working with young people with SEMH or similar needs
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, supportive approach
• A genuine interest in making a positive difference in the lives of young people
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
