Chalk Education is recruiting for an SEMH support assistant to support secondary-aged pupils across Cheshire East with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong presence, resilience, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people who display challenging behaviours. You will play a vital role in providing stability, structure, and encouragement to help students achieve both academically and personally. This role is ideal for a sports coach who can think outside the box with the curriculum and engaging SEN children in school life. The role is based off site, making use of local amenities.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and group basis.
• Helping to manage behaviour in a calm, confident, and consistent way.
• Assisting the teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
• Acting as a positive role model for secondary-age learners.

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people who present challenging behaviours.
• Resilience, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• A confident, proactive, and supportive approach.
• Previous experience in an SEMH or similar setting is highly desirable.
