Job Title: Caretaker (Site Management / Key Holder)
Location: Mainstream Primary School, St. Helens
Contract: 6-12 Weeks (Immediate Start)
Working Hours: Split Shift, 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM

 

About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Caretaker to join our team at a mainstream primary school in St. Helens. This temporary position offers an immediate start, with the role lasting between 6 to 12 weeks. The ideal candidate will have previous site management and/or key holder experience and be able to manage a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth running of our clients school.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general site maintenance, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
  • Open and close the school premises, handling key holder duties.
  • Conduct routine checks on heating, lighting, and other building systems.
  • Carry out basic repairs and report any major issues.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Assist with setting up the school for events and activities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding
  • Liaise with contractors and other service providers as necessary.
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good condition.

 

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in site management or caretaking, preferably in a school or public building.
  • Key holder experience is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.

 

Working Hours and Pay:

  • Split shift from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with appropriate breaks.
