Psychology Graduate – Secondary SEND Schools – Liverpool
Location: Liverpool
Start Date: September start
Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, Term-time only
Pay: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a Psychology graduate passionate about supporting young people with additional needs in secondary education?
Chalk Education is seeking Psychology graduates to work in secondary SEND schools across Liverpool. This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring educational or clinical psychologists to gain practical, school-based experience with pupils aged 11–18 who face a range of learning and behavioural challenges.

The Role:

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide one-to-one and small group interventions for students with special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting secondary-age pupils with a range of SEND requirements in and out of the classroom.
  • Implementing strategies tailored to individual learning and emotional needs.
  • Helping to develop students’ self-esteem, behaviour, and engagement with learning.
  • Providing pastoral support to help students manage challenges related to anxiety, self-regulation, and social skills.
  • Collaborating with SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies where appropriate.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Strong communication, resilience, and behaviour management skills.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in psychology, education, youth work, or mental health.
  • Experience working with teenagers or within an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
