Primary Teacher – PSHE & Nurture (SEMH)
Location: Wigan
Start Date: 1st June 2026
Pay: From £150 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Temporary with potential to become permanent
Overview
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher to work within a Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting in Wigan. This role focuses on delivering PSHE and Nurture-based learning, supporting young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging PSHE and nurture-focused lessons
- Support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours
- Build strong, positive relationships to promote emotional wellbeing
- Implement behaviour management strategies effectively
- Work collaboratively with support staff and wider school teams
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Recognised UK teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, PTLLS, or QTLLS)
- Proven experience working with challenging behaviours
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
