
Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled SEN Teacher to join a well-established SEN provision in Wigan, working with primary-aged pupils who require tailored and nurturing educational support.
Position Details:
- Role: SEN Teacher
- Location: SEN Provision in Wigan
- Start Date: ASAP
- Daily Pay Rate: £130 - £180 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
- Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Contract Type: Ongoing with the potential for a permanent position
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with ASD and SEMH
- Create a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes emotional and academic development
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider school team
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and track pupil progress
- Use positive behaviour strategies to support students in managing emotions and behaviour
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – This is a mandatory requirement
- A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, ideally within an SEN or inclusive setting
- Strong knowledge and understanding of ASD, SEMH, and associated strategies and interventions
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Patience, empathy, and a resilient, proactive approach to classroom challenges
