Location: Mainstream Primary School, Knowsley
Start Date: Immediate until July 2025
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Chalk Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to join the team at a welcoming and vibrant mainstream primary school in Knowsley. This role is vital in supporting the emotional well-being and personal development of students, ensuring that they have the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral care and support to students across the school, helping to resolve issues and challenges they may face.
  • Assist students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, staff, and parents, contributing to a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
  • Support children in managing their emotions and behaviour in both classroom and playground settings.
  • Work closely with the school's SENCo, teachers, and leadership team to support individual student needs.
  • Organise and deliver group activities to encourage social development and peer interaction.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
  • A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a busy school environment.
