Hours: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday–Friday (mornings only)
Pay: £50 – £68 per morning (PAYE, no umbrella deductions)
Contract: Long-term supply with potential to become permanent
Start: Official contract begins September 2025 – paid trial mornings available immediately

The role

You’ll support a Year 2 boy who is working below age-related expectations and sometimes shows challenging behaviour. Your job is to give him structure, stability and measurable progress by:

  • Delivering clear, step-by-step explanations and interventions.
  • Applying consistent, agreed behaviour-management strategies.
  • Adapting tasks on the spot so success always feels attainable.
  • Logging daily wins and hurdles, feeding back concisely to the teacher, SENCo and home.

What you’ll need

  • Recent, hands-on experience with primary pupils who have SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Calm authority—firm boundaries delivered with genuine warmth.
  • Minimum Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths GCSE.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and realistic expectations of the role.
  • A genuine team mindset—this one-form-entry staff look out for each other.
