Chalk are recruiting for a MLD Teaching Assistant position which is a long-term placement starting Immediately or September 2026 for a long-term position in a wonderful SEN school in Coventry.

Job Description

This rewarding role will suit a dedicated TA and will involve working with students on a one-to-one basis to support them academically and emotionally during the school day. You will also assist the class teacher and work with small groups when needed, with a flexible approach, adapting activities to suit the specific needs of individuals.

This Special School caters for young people aged 7 to 19 who have a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). The supportive staff team aim to help pupils to reach their potential within a nurturing and happy setting.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• TA or Education qualification
• Experience working with children who have SEND
• Strong behaviour Management
• Positive and caring attitude
• Calm and flexible approach

• References confirming suitability for role
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
• Eligibility to work in the UK
