Location: Reading

Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8.30AM-3.30PM
Salary: £85-95 Per day

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated Literacy & Numeracy Support Teaching Assistant to work with primary-aged children, providing extra support in reading, writing, and maths. You will be a key part of our nurturing team, helping pupils develop strong foundations in their learning journey.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with small groups and one-to-one to improve literacy and numeracy skills
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons
  • Support early readers with phonics and comprehension activities
  • Help children build confidence in basic number skills through fun, practical tasks
  • Monitor and celebrate progress, encouraging a love of learning
  • Work closely with teachers and parents to ensure each child receives the support they need

What We’re Looking For:

  • A love for literacy and numeracy and a passion for working with young children
  • Experience supporting primary-aged pupils (preferred but not essential)
  • A patient, encouraging, and nurturing approach to learning support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
