Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-Time

About the School:
We are a specialist SEND school in Wavertree, dedicated to supporting children and young people aged 5 to 18 with a range of additional needs. Our team provides an inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive and reach their potential.

The Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, confident, and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will support the learning, development, and personal care of our students, including those with visual impairments and other complex needs. Your role will be integral in helping children engage in their learning and in promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting children with additional needs, including visual impairments, in classroom and school activities
• Assisting with personal care and daily routines where required
• Implementing individual learning plans and supporting curriculum delivery under the guidance of teachers
• Encouraging independence, social interaction, and positive behaviour
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to meet the needs of each child

Person Specification:

• Previous experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a SEND setting
• Confidence in supporting personal care, including toileting and mobility needs
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit individual needs
• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
