Level 2 Teaching Assistant – SEND School (Wavertree)

Chalk Education is proud to be supporting a welcoming and forward-thinking SEND school in the Wavertree area. We are seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time, long-term basis starting in January.
This school provides tailored education for pupils with visual impairments, and most learners also present with additional learning or medical needs. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, patient, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with visual impairments and additional needs within the classroom.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support as directed by teaching staff.
- Assisting with adapted learning materials and accessible resources.
- Offering emotional and behavioural support as needed.
- Carrying out personal care duties, particularly within younger year groups.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
- A DBS registered on the Update Service is essential.
- If you do not currently have one, we can support you in completing a new DBS application, but you must be willing to register it on the Update Service, as this is a requirement of the school.
- A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Availability to work full-time from January.
