Make a real impact where it matters.
We’re recruiting LSAs/TAs to join a co-educational Alternative Provision in Hillingdon supporting pupils aged 11–16 who cannot attend mainstream school. Many learners are at risk of exclusion and need consistent, resilient adults who can help them re-engage, progress, and stay on track.
The role
- Support teachers with the planning and delivery of lessons; help prepare resources and materials.
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to meet individual learning goals.
- Promote positive behaviour, routine, and readiness to learn—calm, consistent, and firm when needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and fellow LSAs to share strategies and best practice.
- Take part in team meetings and contribute to discussions on progress, interventions, and next steps.
- Uphold safeguarding, inclusion, and high expectations at all times.
You’ll need
- Relevant experience with secondary-age pupils (11–16)—AP/PRU/SEMH background welcome. (Not primary or post-16.)
- Subject strength in English, PSHE or Humanities and the confidence to reinforce literacy and cross-curricular skills.
- Resilience and a can-do attitude: calm under pressure, able to de-escalate and build trust quickly.
- Right to work in the UK, an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply), and two recent references.
Why this role?
- Temp-to-perm pathway in a supportive, specialist setting.
- Clear hours: 8:30am–3:45pm, Monday to Friday (term time).
- On-site parking and a collaborative staff team.
- Ongoing guidance and CPD opportunities focused on behaviour, SEND and SEMH support.
Additional requirements:
- References confirming suitability for role
- Commitment to Safeguarding
