vibrant and culturally diverse Primary School in Forest Gate (E7) is seeking a compassionate and proactive Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their Nursery Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a nurturing environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential.

The Role:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with early years pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them thrive. The role involves one-to-one and small group support, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the child’s emotional and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support to children with SEN, fostering their academic and personal development.
  • Implement structured routines and maintain consistent boundaries to create a secure learning environment.
  • Support children with toilet training, personal care, and mobility needs, including elements of manual handling when required.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Encourage independence and confidence through engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment, maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and welfare.

What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with Early Years children and pupils with SEN.
✔ Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
✔ Comfortable with personal care responsibilities, including toileting and hygiene support.
✔ Energetic, patient, and adaptable with a passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
✔ Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
