Chalk Education is recruiting for a Designated Safeguarding Lead to work in a SEND school which caters for children with a wide range of Special Needs including PMLD and ASD. All pupils have a statement of educational needs and an Education Health Care Plan.

This is a long-term, full-time, term time only role starting ASAP for the right candidate.

Alongside the school’s other staff, you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in a safeguarding or compliance role within education or a similar setting.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, including Early Help and attendance processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality.
• Strong administrative and IT skills.
• Experience of working with children/young people with SEND would be advantageous.
